The Dahon Death Bloom is a plant with an interesting, and lethal, adaptation for surviving in the dry Savannah. Within the dry-looking bark of this tree are long, supple tendrils which are exceptionally sensitive to moisture, allowing the Deathbloom to sense the presence of any water source. If moisture is sensed by the plant, the tendrils wave gently in the air, drawing animals and the terminally curious within it's grasp. It is at this point that the tendrils lash out, snaring their prey, dragging them towards the body of the plant where upon the Deathbloom will start to absorb the moisture out of the unfortunate preys body, leaving macabre decorations hanging from the tree. |
