| Apocteras use the volcanic areas and surrounding ash wastes to breed. They sting their victims which paralyzes them and then inject their eggs into their helpless bodies. The eggs turn into larvae which consume their living incubators. The larvae form a hard chrysalis that can withstand the harsh temperatures of the area, making it a perfect breeding ground for the giant wasps. When the adult Apoctera is born it repeats the cycle. |
