Virus Killer |
|
Stage 1 |
Location: | SureTec (Testing) (4, 5) |
A SureTec Technician is crouched down next to a maintenance hatch trying to splice into a data cable. |
|
The Technician does not look up from his work, 'Well yes, like all things if you know what you need to do it is not that bad. Unfortunately I really don't know what is wrong, I need to restart the mainframe so I can load up the default configuration settings and get the place back to normal. But the Virus is stopping the re-set commands. The Virus has also opened the old Bot Program for no apparent reason and started to make weird Prototype robots.'
'None of our Virus protocols seem to work on it, the code just slips through them. I don't understand it. But we can't have the factory making robots for no reason. The Prototypes also have a nasty habit of attacking everything they see, which is not really good for a working environment. Employees don't take kindly to being killed you see.'
'You know, maybe you could help. There has to be a profile of the Virus within the Prototypes themselves, all programs are made up of code Objects. We just need to get the profile of those Objects to get a handle on what we are dealing with. The best way to do that is to download the code from the Unknown Prototype Mk2. Take this System Loader Blueprint and return when you have a Code Profile of the Virus.'
You receive 1 x System Loader Blueprint |

Stage 2 |
Location: | SureTec (Testing) (4, 5) |
The Technician has now taken even more cabling out of the maintenance hatch and is busy rerouteing data lines in an attempt to limit the Viruses spread in the factory. 'Have you got that Code profile yet from the Unknown Prototype Mk2?' |
|
He takes the profile from you and quickly plugs it into his hand, after a few seconds his face freezes in shock. 'There are thinking routines in this Virus. It might not be a simple Virus after all. Which would explain why the Virus Programs could not deal with it. There is one ray of hope though. The different types of prototype have strange wireless connections. This means that they could all be interconnected for some reason. I might have an idea of how I can get the mainframe re-started. Please follow me into the R&D. I'll meet you there.' |

Stage 3 |
Location: | SureTec (R&D) (7, 6) |
The Technician waits for you, 'I think maybe the Factory might not be attacked by a Virus at all. But I don't know the details just yet. The main concern is to get the Main Frame re-started. Will you help me?' |
|
He sighs in relief, 'I'm glad, I really don't know how to handle it myself. I think that the malicious program is huge, it might be shared between the Prototypes themselves through their wireless connections.
If we can disrupt the main code Object we might shock the program enough to re-start the mainframe. Destroy a Prototype Mk4 and return to me when you have finished.

Stage 4 |
Location: | SureTec (R&D) (7, 6) |
The SureTec Technician is busy working on a mobile workstation when you return, he looks at you nervously 'Have you destroyed a Prototype Mk4 (Elite)?' |
|
He quickly hammers away at the workstation, the lights go out for a moment and the ventilation fans stop.
Slowly lights come back on and one by one the fans start. Then suddenly you hear crashing sounds, you turn to see Prototypes falling to the floor like lifeless mannequins.
The Technician smiles, 'I have full access to the mainframe. Looks like we beat the Virus thanks to you.
I found this Mk4 Laser Rifle Blueprint, take it as a token of thanks. Unfortunately we can't help you make it due to the mainframe still sorting it's self out. But I did find this Ionized Rifle Barrel from an old abandoned project I'll put it in the Data File shop for you and give you access. I think it will help you make your Laser Rifle.'
You receive 37,922 Xp + 1 x Mk4 Laser Rifle Blueprint + 10 Skill Points |
