In the distance you hear a succession of loud explosions. Curiosity gets the better of you and as you draw near to the odd noises, you are surprised to find a TIU Trooper absently shooting Glomerom Spore Sacs. |

The Trooper shoulders his rifle, 'Sorry, you can't come this way � please move along.' He then takes out a Datapad and scans you. A shrill bleep brings gets the Troopers attention.
'I don't understand this, but you have a Captains Rank? Please come with me to the Dell, we have to go through the Winding Path to get there ... Sir.' As he says this he slips a new clip into his rifle. You get the distinct feeling that it wasn't a request to follow him. |

Stage 2 |

You are lead through the Winding Path straight to a TIU Tech. |

The TIU Lab Tech looks terrified, his face is as pale as a sheet. When he sees you his eyes widen in dis-belief. The TIU Trooper butts in before he can speak, 'I found this Unit wandering around the outer perimeter. When I logged his presence I got a hit off Central Command. He has a Captains Rank, which surely cannot be correct. So I brought him to you for verification.'
The Tech looks at his Datapad, then scans you. For the first time a smile crosses his face. 'Everything is in order, the Unit has been awarded a Field Commission for his services to the TIU. The details are classified. But he does outrank you, thank you for bringing the Captain to me.' The Trooper stiffens slightly, then turns to go. But the Lab Tech stops him, 'Aren't you forgetting something, TIU regulations clearly state that you must salute a superior before you are dismissed.'
The Trooper looks like he had been struck, slowly he turns and gives a brisk salute. Then returns to his post. As you watch him go you notice that his feet slam into the ground so hard that small clouds of dust are kicked up.
The Lab Tech leans in close to you, 'I can't believe you're here, what are the odds! Any way, we have another infection, but this time the Experiment has had time to take root. We can't overrun it because of growth numbers. We also can't bomb from low orbit because of the nearby city. We do have one thing to help, a prisoner from another operation has information that might help, but none of the Troopers here are taking him seriously. Can you go talk to him, might have better luck. If he helps resolve this, I will see he is released back to whatever hovel he came from.' |

Stage 3 |

Just behind the Lab Tech you are shocked to find a Snabith Warrior standing chained like a dog. |

The Snabith Warrior stares at you blankly, you explain that the TIU Platoon Leader will let him go if he helps them. He snorts incredulously, 'I have already told them the solution, but they do not listen. All they understand is bullets and guns. They think I'm a dumb savage.' You nod, then ask him what he would do. 'I told them to use the Glomerom, their spores will be inhaled by the Green Warriors and they will not be able to grow. But they would not listen!' You ask how the Glomerom could help, the Snabith Warrior looks at you pityingly. 'They kill from the inside out, you simply need to construct a Glomerom Floater and ignite it.'
'The ignition is the tricky part. You need something that will puncture the sac and set fire to it at the same time.'
You have a sudden flash of inspiration, you describe the Flame Burst and the Warrior nods, 'Yes! That would be perfect, the Apoctera Needle will burst the Floater and the Flame Pack will do the rest. Here, take this Glomerom Biostrike Blueprint. When you have made the Biostrike release it at the Experiment Root.'

Stage 4 |

Clutching the Glomerom Biostrike you edge carefully onto field where the weird Experiment 4 is growing. You get as close to the Experiment Root as you dare. |

The Biostrike is an odd looking weapon, it can keep itself aloft with the strange Floater Sacs. You launch it at the large Green Pod at the center of the infection and run. As soon as it hits the Root you hear a defining roar and a light green mist starts to spread over the area.
You should get to the Lab Tech as soon as possible |

Stage 5 |

The Lab Tech stares at you running towards him. |

The green mist crawls slowly over the Experiment Field. As the odd plants inhale the spores, they start to choke and wither almost instantly. You tell the Lab Tech to withdraw the Unit at once, and that the Warrior must be released.
He nods slowly and starts barking orders. A Trooper shoots the chains off the Snabith Warrior and they take out their emergency Re-Locators and vanish in a flash of light.
The Warrior laughs, 'We should get out of here, oh, and thank you for my Freedom!' You smile as you both run down the Winding Path.
