Unit Expectations |
|
Stage 1 |
Location: | Karano (Growth Vats) (10, 6) |
The Growth Vats is an eerie place, you see embryonic Units suspended in glass containers. Bubbles ripple over the surface oxygenating the fluid the young Units are suspended allowing them to breath. It is odd for you knowing that you were manufactured in exactly the same way. Eventually you come across a computer console. The words 'Quality Control' are written in large white letters across the top of the monitor. |
|
Words stream across the screen. After a loud bleep, a pop up window appears. The message 'Enter Password' hovers of a text field. Irritated, you type 'you phale' and smash the enter button. The screen goes black, then another window opens with a computer generated face of a woman floating in the middle. She frowns at you, 'If you do not input a correct password I shall call security.' Smugly you wave the X5b Iris Scan in front of her. Her eyes widen. 'I see you have a Security document. Is that for me?' You explain that there seems to be an issue with the X5b and Security wants Quality Control to look at the preliminary scans to see if everything is all right.
You then show her the Oasis Base Profile.
'Hmmm, those files look to be in a raw state. I need to to compile a System Quality Report for my system to be able to understand the data. Please take this System Quality Report Blueprint. Return when you have compiled it.'
You receive 1 x System Quality Report Blueprint |

Stage 2 |
Location: | Karano (Growth Vats) (10, 6) |
You return to the Quality Control console, the Quality AI gazes up at you, 'Have you compiled the System Quality Report?' |
|
You slip the Disc into a slot next to the keyboard, after a few seconds the Quality AI appears in here window. 'There seems to be an issue with the Bio material gathered by the Harvesters. It's laced with radiation. This has caused the Clone Units which we are manufacturing to be faulty. What I don't understand is why the Facility Mainframe has allowed the use of sub-standard raw materials. This question must be answered, can you please access the Quality Console in Finishing, thank you.' |
|
|
Stage 3 |
Location: | Karano (Finishing) (13, 18) |
You find the Quality Console, its desktop is active and the Quality AI stares up at you. 'I see that you are a Unit from another Facility. I'm sorry but the memory core has been fragmented so I cannot access it fully. Which Facility are you from?' |
|
The Quality AI blinks, 'Ah, I see. That is why there is no Model Number in your Iris Code. I thought it was my scan or data retrieval that was at fault. The G27 didn't make models, they simply made a Unit that would adapt to the customers needs. No other Facility could do that. I must say that your Code Profile is quite magnificent.'
The AI's smile fades, 'But that does not have any relevance to the problem at hand. This Facility is creating faulty Units. The problem is that the Mainframe is not applying the manufacturing standards to the creation process for some reason. We must fix this. The good thing is that the Maintenance sub-system is on a separate network and power supply to help protect against corruption. Unfortunately the Maintenance system will not talk to me as it assumes I have suffered the same corruption as the Mainframe. We must gather the Mainframe Default Settings and re-set the Karano Central Computer. I have managed to find this Karano Factory Settings Blueprint from an obsolete data archive. When you have acquired the Karano Factory Settings, please return here so that I can check it..'
Your receive 1 x Karano Factory Settings Blueprint |

Stage 4 |
Location: | Karano (Finishing) (13, 18) |
The Quality AI smiles as you return, 'Have you managed to compile the Karano Factory Settings. |
|
You slip the Settings into the scanner, after a few seconds the AI nods. 'Yes - this is perfect. Please take the Factory Settings and access the Quality Console found in the Tech Block.'
You receive 1 x Karano Factory Settings |

|
Stage 5 |
Location: | Karano (Tech Block) (5, 7) |
The Quality AI hovers in her Window. She does not look happy. |
|
You stand in front of the monitor, but the Quality AI seems to be distracted. You type 'Hello' and she immediately looks up at you. 'Ah, umm. We have a problem. I'm not sure what we can do. The Mainframe has detected my presence here and has taken my queries as hostile. I don't understand why it is behaving like this. It has set it's defenses at the highest level for some reason. I'm sorry but we need to get past the Firewall before we can upload the Factory Settings. I have no right to ask you to do this, but can you destroy the Karano Firewall (Elite)? If you do manage this please return here.' |
|
|
Stage 6 |
Location: | Karano (Tech Block) (5, 7) |
The Quality AI tries to avoid eye contact with you. But when you don't leave she eventually looks up at you, 'Have you destroyed the Karano Firewall (Elite)? |
|
The Quality AI stares up at you, 'The Firewall is a potent enemy, you have defeated it? She stares off into the middle distance. You are pleased to see the shock wash over her flawless features at your victory. 'Yes you have. Please give me the Factory Settings quickly before the Mainframe can reactivate it's defenses.'
You slip the Settings into the scanner. The lights flicker as the files are uploaded. 'I see the problem, the Mainframe is cooled by water taken from the pool nearby. But the water seems to be poisoned with harmful radiation. This has effected the components of the Mainframe and corrupted the data held within those components. I have informed Maintenance of the issue and they are upgrading the filtration of the coolant pipe to remove the impurities. I have also authorized Security to destroy the whole X5b line. I must thank you for your kindness Unit. You are a Credit to the G27.'
You receive 130,594 Xp + 10 Skill Points |
