Lamps of the Dead |
|
Stage 1 |
Location: | Phantom Domain (Field of Stone) (2, 14) |
You move through the Field of Stone, you feel greedy eyes on you and turn suddenly to find nothing there. After a while you hear a harsh chuckle. A Stalker stands resting on his worn shovel. You greet the Stalker, he nods slowly, 'I see you are not here of a funeral? I guess you are here for a different reason. Do you have the Kazmar Caster?' |
|
He looks at it, 'It's an impressive thing. But being unfinished it will not work.' He hands it back, 'This is the Field of Stone, we bury only our deserving dead here. It is a great honor to the family name to have one of your warriors placed in its hallowed ground. But it is a restless place. Not all the spirits are are willing to be here. There are some that seem to have a anger about them. A reluctance to move on. It is part of a Warriors duty to guide these wayward spirits to where they are to go. Along the way you can glean some wisdom from the other side, if you listen carefully.'
You listen to the odd little man with growing distaste. The Dahon honor Sigma and draw strength from the Plants and Animals that flourish on the plains. It is real, but this idiot is prattling on about dead spirits. What can the dead do? What wisdom can be gained from someone who is stupid enough to get themselves killed?
You swallow your skepticism, then ask how the living can guide the souls of the dead? The Grave digger smiles openly at you. 'Goooood, goooood. Most of the warriors want to dominate the dead or empower their weapons with the most powerful spirits. Can you believe that!' You laugh, forced as it is, the idiot does not notice.
'You cannot kill the Spirits, just destroy the auras of light that they inhabit. If you destroy these lights the Spirits think it's safer to move on to the after life.'
'But the destruction of the auras leave a Necrophage which we can use. The Necrophage is not the power of the dead, just the imprint of their passing. Return when you have concocted the Cro Gin Necrophage, and I shall tell you of further wisdom.' As you turn the Grave Digger grabs your arm. 'The Necrophage can only be taken from the Warped aether lights, also the Blueprint you need is available in the Field Mart. Step lightly.'
You receive 1 x Kazmar Caster |

Stage 2 |
Location: | Phantom Domain (Field of Stone) (2, 14) |
The Grave Digger leans on his worn spade and waits for you, 'You made the Cro Gin Necrophage?' |
|
He takes it from you and holds it to the light, 'Hmmm, it is nice and clear. Here - you will need it later. There are just two more things you need to do.' He hands it back to you, then leans in close. 'Go get yourself a rest, come back when you are ready to take the next step into a larger world.'
You receive 1 x Cro Gin Necrophage |

Stage 3 |
Location: | Phantom Domain (Field of Stone) (2, 14) |
The Grave Digger is inspecting the old spade when you return, 'You ready for the next step?' |
|
He smiles up at you and leans back onto his spade, 'We are in the realm of the living. But the recent dead sometimes do not want to leave this world and move onto the next...' You give an inner sigh as he prattles on about some nonsense or another. Do the Phantom Stalkers believe this? You are amazed that they have lived this long if they accept this stupidity!
You slowly prepare your weapon, the idiot does not even notice. He just continues babbling on about guiding the spirits to the threshold of the after life. He obviously likes to talk, used to the mystery that he is spinning being lapped up by gullible fools.
The mention of a Key snaps you back to his words, '...with the Steel Temple Key you can gain access to the mysteries within the Steel Temple Vault. I haven't been in it, so don't bother asking. I just give the Key to those who are brave enough guide the Spirits of the Fallen into the threshold. I can then show those few worthy Warriors the Cro Gin Rifle Blueprint and they are one step closer to making the Phantom Caster...' he does not finish his drivel. He does not even see the killing blow dealt to him. He just hits the sandy floor his blood pools around him.
You stand there and listen to the silence of the moron not speaking. You wonder why these Phantom Stalkers ever survived when they swallow such nonsense. You kick the body of the Grave Digger over and search for the Key and the Blueprint. The Steel Temple Key is attached to a ring on his belt. It snaps off easily, but you find no Blueprint on him. You know a moment of panic, then see the spade laying next to the body, smile crosses slowly across you face. Where else would a Gravedigger hide something...
You should find the Cro Gin Rifle Blueprint
You receive 1 x Steel Temple Key |

Stage 4 |
Location: | Phantom Domain (Field of Stone) (5, 2) |
You find a long line of white grave markers. It stretches off into the distance, you wonder how many Phantom Stalkers have died if these are the few honored dead! Then suddenly you see something different about one of the markers. It has no name. |
|
With your hands you dig into the hot sand, and wonder if it is worth your while going back for the Grave Digger's spade when your hand hits something solid. You pull out a long rusty box. It opens with a loud creak. Inside you find a Blueprint sitting alongside several macabre objects. You snort at the idiotic attempt to scare you and take the Cro Gin Rifle Blueprint.
You hold the Steel Temple Key in your hand, you wonder where the Temple is.
You receive 421,639 Xp + 10 Skill Points + 1 x Cro Gin Rifle Blueprint |
