The Boy smiles, 'Yeah, the Sands are a weird place. To quiet for my liking but it's great for the Sand Pups.' He grins at you.
'Tell you what, go defeat 100 Sand Pups and I'll take you to Amara's Hut.' |

Stage 3 |
Location: | Dahon Plains (Amaras Hut) (2, 2) |
You are surprised to see how dark Amara keeps her home, she looks up from the large pot she is stirring. |
|
The Dahon Medicine woman stares at you for a moment. Then she drops her spoon and rushes up and hugs you fiercely. 'You have taken so long to return. I had given up hope of you ever coming back. How far did you get?'
You sit down and tell your tale. You begin with the betrayal of Ellie and your struggles with Omni Gribbly within the Taulin Sands. Then entering the Phantom Domain after building the Phantom Beamer to be allowed access into TarThal and search the Dungeons for the lost Dahon. At the mention of the Fortress, Amara flinches. Then her eyes go wide, 'You went into Tar Thal... none have ever seen those dark halls and lived!'
You shrug then tell her that there was no sign of any Dahon within Tar Thal or the Phantom Domain. You would assume that if there were, they would have been paraded across the Sector for all to see. Amara picks up her spoon and cleans it with a cloth. 'So, they didn't take our people. Where are they going to?' Again you shrug.
Amara goes back to stirring the pot. You then carry on your story with the discovery that the TIU were arming the Phantom Stalkers. They were trading their weapons for a promise of murdering Dahon. The Medicine Woman stabs at the pot with her spoon. 'That sounds like the TIU. They can be both brave and cowardly. An odd people but a powerful foe none-the-less. This is grave news but explains how the Stalker Blades suddenly have expensive guns. But it's just another hurdle we must overcome.' She looks sadly into the pot with the slowly cooking stew.
You laugh gently and Amara looks up at the sound. After stretching your legs, you continue your tale. You describe 'porting up into the Vanguard and meeting the Vanguard Tech. Amara gazes at you in open astonishment at the idea that the TIU might not be the unified army she thought. And then smiles broadly as you describe the Vanguard Tech pointing at the flash of the Vanguards destruction. 'So, the TIU wiped out their own. That is good, the weapons shall then stop. It is just a mystery as to where our people are vanishing to.'
Silence fills the small dark hut, light from the cooking fire throws dancing shadows along its walls. To break the silence you ask if there are any areas within the Plains that people rarely go into. Amara nods, 'The Cursed Lands. They are claimed by our tribe as nobody else wants anything to do with them. The areas within these lands are filled with foul Soulless and savage wildlife. Why do you ask?' You simply mention that if the missing Dahon were not taken by the Stalkers, the only place left to look for the is where nobody goes. Amara stops and stares into the cooking pot. 'The tales of the cursed lands are filled with hungry Soulless. They eat everything they come across, they are worse than animals. Some of the tales question if they are even alive at all. But our people have never ventured deep into the Cursed lands. So I cannot really give you much guidance on the matter.'
Amara lays the spoon down, 'It never occurred to me that the Souless might be more active. But this time I am not going to sit here and wait for you again. If you are going to enter the Cursed Lands I shall come with you. We can leave in the morning, our journey will start in the Dry Basin, from there we shall find the way to the Baked Lands. You had best rest now Brave, we will leave early in the morning.'
Amara then abruptly hands you a Battered Datapad, 'You better hold this for me, I'll forget it in the rush packing for our journy.'
