The Rush |
|
Stage 1 |
Location: | Cerrath (Series 2) (3, 2) |
You walk through the door to be greeted by Amara, she smiles nervously at you. |
|
The Medicine Woman points at a large vat with a strange looking female droid floating within. The droid's fingers twitch and electricity arcs between them, 'You see that Brave? This Unit is supposed to be the place where the Banshees were made, but I find these here instead. Something is not right. Cerrath seems to be altering the Clone Units into these new droid forms. Or is it those Robot Women? No matter, our tales only speak of the Husks. A few do mention a Raging Maiden that I assume are the Banshees, but they seemed to stay fairly close to the Facility.' She ties a bandage around her arm.
'I have fought one of these new robots. They cast powerful electrical bolts. We cannot let these leave the Facility. Find a way to stop their production.' |

Stage 2 |
Location: | Cerrath (Series 2) (14, 7) |
You can see Amara's fear at this new threat to the Dahon. Whatever can frighten her must be stopped. You have to walk quite far before you eventually find a Control Panel built into the wall. On the viewscreen is a single word 'Activate'. |
|
A long list of numbers suddenly scroll endlessly over the Viewscreen. You wait for the menu to pop up. The numbers continue to flow. In frustration you hit the 'Enter' key on the keyboard and the numbers stop.
A menu pops up but the options are mostly corrupted with weird symbols. The only option that has any words that make sense is the first one, it is labeled Series 2 Upgrade. You press it as you have no other option. Again numbers start to stream across the screen, but you halt it immediately by pressing the Enter Key. A complex diagram replaces the list. You stare blankly at the boxes of different colours and strange shapes. After a few moments you find a box labeled Bioelectrical Generation.
You select it only out of vague curiosity. Again a complex flow diagram crawls over the screen. You stare at boxes and then notice a small option at the bottom of the screen labeled 'Modify Attribute'. You select the small button and list then replaces the Attribute Diagram. The first option is 'Add Characteristic Node', the second is 'Add Unit Upgrade'.
There is no way you could add a Node as you don't understand Clone Technology, you would assume there are safeguards set in place to stop erroneous code from being input into the system. So you select 'Add Unit Upgrade'. You sigh as you don't have a clue what a Unit Upgrade would be. But a list does not appear as you would expect, just a text box labeled 'Upgrade Code' and another labeled 'Scan Upgrade'.
You stare dumbfounded at the screen. In you pocket you feel the S1 Adrenaline Regulator that Amara gave you. You shrug and think what is the worst that can happen. You place the Regulator onto the scanner next to the keyboard and select 'Scan Upgrade'. After a bleep an option box pops up, 'Do you wish the S1 Adrenaline Regulator to be auto assigned to the selected Unit Attribute [y] [n]?'
You shrug and select [y]. The view screen goes blank.
Then a progression bar pops up labeled 'Testing'. You watch the bar slowly fill. Then the bar is replaced with a 'Results Box'. The box shows the effect of the Adrenaline Regulator within the Bioelectrical Generation Attribute. The regulator boosts the power levels of the Attribute by 300%. But overloads the Unit's nervous system, burning it from the inside out and consuming it utterly.
Two option buttons blink at the bottom of the screen. You press 'Accept.' Your smile fades when an error box suddenly appears. 'Power profile of unit might not be compatible with Specified Upgrade. Please provide Energy Schematic of specified Unit, or Provide Biospark Attribute Scan.' You sigh, nothing can be easy. You select the 'Provide Biospark Attribute Scan' option and a Blueprint is printed off just below the keyboard.
You receive 1 x Biospark Attribute Scan Blueprint |

Stage 3 |
Location: | Cerrath (Series 2) (14, 7) |
The viewscreen on the Series 2 Control console is filled with numbers. After hitting the return key the screen clears. A pop-up box appears, 'Awaiting Biospark Attribute Scan.' |
|
A progress bar slowly fills as the results of the scan is processed by Control console. With a sharp bleep the results window pops up. 'The Scan shows that the Biospark Upgrade Controller can cope with the additional load of the S1 Adrenaline Regulator. But the biosamples given demonstrate that the Unit will not survive use of the Bioelectrical discharge if the S1 Adrenaline regulator is applied. Do you wish to continue? [y] [n]'
You select [y].
The screen goes blank for a second then a stream of numbers run across the screen. You hit the return key. Nothing happens. You hit it again.
A confirmation window opens in the viewscreen, 'Do you want the current Biospark line to have this upgrade applied? [y] [n]' You select [y], the screen blinks and another pop-up box appears. 'Please enter the 6 digit security code for Upgrade authentication.'
A text box appears with a cursor blinking inside. You stare at it, then in despair type, '1,2,3,4,5,6.' The screen goes black immediately then a window opens. 'Thank you Director Philips. You have not logged on in 481,800 days. Please take the updated Code Tag for your future convenience. The S1 Adrenaline Regulator has now been applied to the Biospark Unit Profile, the current line will be upgraded with a 5 hour delay in Unit completion. Have a nice day Director Philips.'
You should return to Amara and tell her what you have done.
You receive 1 x Cerrath Code Tag |

Stage 4 |
Location: | Cerrath (Series 2) (3, 2) |
Amara stands staring at the Unit floating before her in the maturation tank. She turns and greets you, 'Have you managed to halt the production of the Biospark Units?' |
|
Amara frowns at your reply, 'What do you mean, you either stopped it or you didn't.' You shrug then describe altering the Unit profile with the S1 Adrenaline regulator she gave you. The regulator will boost the electrical discharge, overloading the Units systems and destroying it from the inside out.
Amara grimaces, 'I see. Well the Units I have met are an angry bunch. I doubt that they will be able to resist using their Spark even if it does destroy them. I have been thinking about your idea about fixing the Cerrath Facility rather than shutting it down. Now I see the Units, they seem to be merely products of their design. If that design is flawed, then repairing that flaw would seem the most logical solution rather than ignoring it. I have been looking at a diagram of the layout of the facility, we should try the Maintenance Area. Maybe there we can find a way to upload your Factory Settings.
