Golgesh Haze |
|
Stage 1 |
Location: | Rah Kain (Crest) (15, 9) |
You appear to come out on top of a large platform at the top of Rah Kain. The it is enveloped in a weird musty smelling mist. It is so thick that you can only see a few steps. You eventually find Grux standing as if in a dream, breathing in the strange haze as if it is fine wine. |
|
The Golgesh nods slowly, 'Yes, I suppose it is only keyed into the Golgesh Organic Signature. But it is a very calming and pleasant balm to my soul.' You are suddenly struck by the language Grux is using, you don't remember him quite so eloquent. Maybe the alteration to his body has effected his mental capabilities as well. The implications of that are actually quite disturbing.
Grux seems to concentrate for a moment, 'You need to contact your friends don't you. We Golgesh have our own technology. It lives. Our bio-machines are good for other bio-machines. Getting them to talk together is very easy, you just tell them to. But it does not interface well with mechanical technology. So nothing of the Golgesh can talk to non-Golgesh machines without direct and complex modifications to both the Golgesh and non-Golgesh items. So basically you are cut off from your friends.'
You begin to panic, you need to tell Cerrath what you have found.
Grux seems to see your distress, he holds out his hands. 'Do not worry my friend, all is not lost. Because we are surrounded by enemies it is useful for us to have knowledge of our enemies tools. We have a Tender who looks after the health and development of Rah Kain. These Tenders are very clever. They study your machines. If anyone is likely to have any way to contact your friends, it's the Tenders. But they are secluded within their Dome. The Spore Casters have many functions, one of those is to seal the Dome. You will need to thin down their numbers and let the Haze dissipate for the seal to weaken. Come back to me when you have destroyed 400 Spore Casters. Do not worry, Rah Kain will grow more to replace the ones you kill. But it will take time to do so. Be quick my friend.' |

Stage 2 |
Location: | Rah Kain (Crest) (15, 9) |
Grux is still breathing the haze deeply when you return, 'Have you cleared 400 Spore Casters?' |
|
He looks around, 'Yes, I see the air is clearing a little. We should get inside the Dome as quickly as we can. Come on we don't have much time.' |
|
|
Stage 3 |
Location: | Rah Kain (Dome) (9, 12) |
Inside the Dome is an odd suffocating silence, Grux looks around in fear. He is obviously unnerved by being here. |
|
He nods curtly, 'I never expected to ever see the Dome of Rah Kain. Only high ranking Classes get inside such structures. We should look for some technology around here. As well as try to avoid the Tenders, they are not known for their mercy.'
A loud cry goes off from an unseen alarm, Grux flinches. 'We have been found!'
A tall Golgesh with long claws turns a corner, 'Yes you have. I was trying to follow the intruder who was avoiding our guards so well. I was also confused why there was no lasting damage ever inflicted onto my beloved Rah Kain. Now I see why. You have been guided through.' The Tender points at Grux, 'Why have you betrayed us?' Grux takes a step backwards, then sees you. He straightens and steps forward toward the obviously powerful threat. 'I was abandoned by the Overseers to the Vermin. Only this outsider came to my aid. I was betrayed first by the Dominion, so I repaid my debt as is our code as Golgesh and aided in their Mission of reconnaissance, also making sure Rah Kain was not damaged too much in the process.'
The Tender stops for an instant, 'Ah, yes. I did see that rather regrettable report. But that does not excuse your traitorous acts. You shall be destroyed for your disloyalty to our Mother Dominion.'
The Tender's claws suddenly extend by a full foot and he advances on poor Grux, You must protect your friend by killing the Rah Kan Tender (Elite). |
|
|
Stage 4 |
Location: | Rah Kain (Dome) (9, 12) |
Grux panics at you, 'The Tender (Elite) is after me. Please help, I have no chance against such a Highly Ranked Golgesh!' |
|
He blinks at you, 'Thank you my Friend. The Higher your status within the Dominion, the more powerful Signatures you have access to, the more potent a Golgesh you are! I would have had no chance against a Tender. Now, we should look for the Technology Research the Tenders were working on and see if you can contact your Friends. |

|
Stage 5 |
Location: | Rah Kain (Dome) (13, 2) |
You find a work bench piled with metallic objects. They look oddly alien against the organic technology all around you |
|
You quickly search through the objects and are you are relieved to see power lights flickering on some of them. There is little order to the research before you, it looks like a small child is trying to play with something they don't understand. But eventually you come across a TIU Communications unit. It's the only thing you recognize in the jumbled pile of metal.
You connect your Datapad to the Unit and on the viewscreen you see the TIU Shield appear and spin slowly. A large 'Connect' button appears just under it. After pressing it a progress bar crawls across the bottom.
Your personal file then opens and it lists your Operations you have done for the TIU. For some reason you resent the idea that you were working to help them. You momentarily forget what you are supposed to be doing and begin to scroll through the list. You have just highlighted the sub section Orbital Station 1313 within the Operations list when the viewcreen suddenly goes white...
A video link pops open, within it you see a familiar pale face, with shining blue eyes framed by white hair looking back at you. 'Hello Captain. Good to see you still alive. I have just had a notification that you have just accessed your personnel file. Not that it isn't always a pleasure chatting to you but every time you appear it does mean imminent destruction is about to happen to someone. What's up...' Her eyes suddenly go wide, 'BY THE SHATTERED MOON, is that a GOLGESH doing bunny ears behind you?'
You turn to find Grux dropping his hand quickly to his side, 'Sorry, I'll wait over here.' He mumbles guiltily.
You breath deeply and see confusion and panic on LaReina's face. You say calmly, 'Yes, I am at the top of Rah Kain. I need you to tell the Cerrath cloning facility that there is a serious threat. There is a large Golgesh outpost here. They need to expect an attack, there are hundreds of various Golgesh bio-forms here.'
LeReina vanishes from view for a second, then frowns back at you, 'According to our records the Outpost on the Kain Salt Run is a minor infection. We are sending a small attack force to deal with them. Also the Cerrath Cloning Facility is listed as faulty and to be avoided.' You take a deep breath and tell her that there is nothing minor about Rah Kain and to contact the Cerrath Facility and help them survive the coming onslaught.
LeReina sighs deeply, 'Alright, I shall do as you ask. I'll call back the Strike Attack and contact Cerrath. Maybe we can help out. Just get out of there Captain and don't drink the water!'
