Trust and Mistake |
|
Stage 1 |
Location: | Stormpost (South) (10, 12) |
You are walking past a Stormpost terminal when it shouts at you, 'Hey, what just happened up there?' In the link window you see the Stormpost Guard staring out at you, he looks frightened. |
|
The Guard laughs at you, 'Yeah something's wrong, Neil Talgin just logged onto the Tower Net then walked into the Sub Control Room! I managed to lock him out, but he's suddenly become a computer expert and is hacking the the firewall I put up to stop him.'
You get a familiar sinking feeling...
You ask, 'Do you know Neil?' The Guard blinks at you, 'Yeah, he was my brother. But he was killed in the first strike of the Golgesh offensive.' He frowns, then says 'I see you authorized the authentication of Citizenship. Well, I can tell you that if the hack is successful my freshly risen brother will open the Bunker and let the Golgesh kill us all. Now I don't mean to point a finger here, but You made this mess, you clear it up! My Brother could never get the handle of Computers, so this guy is not him. He's already altered the Basilisks target acquisition to all non-Golgesh Entities and is now working on the Tower Keepers. Now get into the Tower and give whoever you let in a good murdering! You can start by destroying 100 Basilisks, we don't want them hunting down our scouts. I'll contact you in the Tower when you get there. This Maintenance Net is not linked to the Tower Communications Ring. So we are safe from being cut off, just don't take too long about getting there.' |

Stage 2 |
Location: | Stormpost (Tower) (2, 12) |
You get into the Tower at last and quickly find the Terminal. |
|
As you start typing onto the Keyboard a link window pops up, the Stormpost Guard stares out at you. 'Good job on those Basilisks. Our Scouts say they can now move more easily. But you need to watch out, the Keepers have fallen to the Hacker. I need a sample of the Virus so I can purge it from the Keepers memory. Take this Keeper Memory Store Blueprint. Load up the Keepers current memory and I can analyze it. And hopefully restore them to kill our enemies rather than us.'

Stage 3 |
Location: | Stormpost (Tower) (2, 12) |
The Stormpost Guard looks out of the link window in the terminals viewscreen, 'You got that keeper Memory Store for me to analyze yet?' |
|
You shake the Data Crystal at the link window. At the sight of it, the Guard smiles at you, 'Excellent, just place it on the scanner and I'll download the virus into a quarantined data vault.' The light from the crystal dulls as the data drains from it. After a shrill bleep the crystal suddenly snaps. A large crack now runs through it.
The Guard nods in his link window, 'Ok I have it. Now all thats left is getting rid of the intruder. I have an idea but I don't know how it will work out. The Sub Control room is locked down, but the maintenance system can still access it. So I can beam an item right next to him, we just need a weapon that will kill him and not harm the control room. Blowing that up might cause lots of memory glitches you see. We don't want computer systems that control multiple effective defense systems glitching if you know what I mean...'
You lean into the viewscreen and give him a wolfish grin and murmur, 'Oh, I have an idea that will target just him and not anything around him. I take it personally, being lied to you see.' The Guard nods nervously, something in your look told him not to argue. 'Ok... You will find the Maintenance Bay in the Square, simply place whatever you want to beam into room onto the Flash Pad. There is a terminal on the Flash Pad, just Log On the comms net and I'll do the rest.'
You take out your Datapad and scan through the list there, you choose the Bomblet as it only targets infantry and not solid objects around it, then the Rah Kain Signature to kill anyone with Golgesh DNA in the room and lastly a Cluster Venom Node. That is enough poison to cripple an entire field of Golgesh artillery. As with every gift, it's the thought that goes into it that counts.
You receive 1 x Goodbye Gift Blueprint |

Stage 4 |
Location: | Stormpost (Maintenance Bay) (2, 2) |
You enter a small chamber, at it's center is a large industrial teleporter. You see the small view screen and keyboard on a thin pole to the left of the portal pad. |
|
Immediately the link window pops up in the viewscreen. The Guard grins at you, 'I told them you would turn up, what you got?' You bring out the Goodbye Gift from your back pack. The Guard glares at it, 'It looks like a weird Bomblet!' You nod and say, 'Yes, it has modified with Golgesh Signatures.' There is a large ring around the top of the strange Bomblet. You twist it. The Bomblet clicks loudly, at the sound the Guard flinches even behind his link window. 'Why did you do that? Now it's armed!' You smile then say, 'It's keyed into Golgesh DNA, I just wanted to prove to you that I'm not a spy.' The Guard stares at you, 'I knew that already! Ok, gently lay that FULLY ARMED anti-personnel mine on Flash Pad in front of you. Then stand back.'
You do so and there is a whine, then a ball of light materializes over the Gift. It shines brightly for a moment then suddenly expands enveloping the pad. Then the ball of light collapses in on itself instantly. You stare at the empty pad in front of you.
From the small viewscreen you hear the Guard give a loud laugh, 'Boom-baby! We'll need to sponge that green stuff off the walls, but thats now taken care of. I can also tell you that our resident clever-clogs have figured out the virus effecting the Keepers and the Basilisks and are updating our Virus Killer as we speak. So we're good for the moment.'
He leans forward and his face fills the link window, 'And I stress, for the MOMENT. Our long range scans have detected a truly massive Entity walking towards us. I'm guessing that it's another Golgesh attack, but its size is huge. I'm sorry to say this, but can you check out whatever is coming? If you do, then take the Stormpost Mechcano I'm now sending you. It was part of the Inkari deal we made, the little Droid has quite a number of functions. We can stay in touch whilst it's with you. You will need to go through the Passage and contact the Gensharr in the Caverns. Be on your guard, the Genshaar are our friends, but don't fully rely on that. They will eat you if you stay too long. And some of them don't like being our friends, just be careful. Speak to you soon hopefully.'
You receive 1,092,010 Xp + 10 Skill Points + 1 x Stormpost Mechcano |
