The Convention of Conflict |
|
Stage 1 |
Location: | The Circle (Warren) (9, 2) |
You again step through the entrance to find Tarron standing there, but this time there is no hesitation. He simply kills every Golgesh that is foolish enough to stay still long enough. |
|
Tarron reloads his clip, 'I still have not seen any Rebellion forces, when was the last time you saw any?' You think back, then tell him it was back on the South Flank. There was a squad of Deepstrike moving through the area. But they seemed to be hemmed in by the Hover Spheres. Tarron sighs, 'So they got past us, but then they were always excellent scouts. That was the reason we were stationed on the Edge to stop their advance. But anyway, that is my point. We are at war, but where is the enemy? Can you recon the area and see if you can find anything of our enemy? I will secure the exit in case something goes wrong.' |

Stage 2 |
Location: | The Circle (Warren) (14, 7) |
The Warren is a large area filled with corridors and small chambers. Golgesh slime covers every surface, and you feel as if every surface is breathing with life. You enter a small chamber to find a hunched Golgesh covering a pit with slime. |
|
You draw your weapon and advance upon the hunched Golgesh, But he hears you somehow and spins on the spot to face you. 'You leave Vasa alone! Vasa only following orders, but if you do Vasa a favor, Vasa will return that favor. It's how life works.'
You have not met many Golgesh who have spoken to you, normally they simply attack. You ask Vasa, 'I am looking for the Rebellion, do you know where they are?' The hunched Golgesh edges slowly away from you, but he shoots a glance at the slime covered pit. 'Vasa does not have any contact with any Silver Men. But maybe Vasa has something that might help you find them.' He pats his backpack. There is a slyness to this creature that makes your teeth grind.
You move with a calm fluidity that only comes when instinct is fused with purpose. Vasa must die. His eyes dilate momentarily, you strike without warning or hesitation. Vasa falls to his knees trying to stop the green life blood from escaping form him. He mumbles dumbfounded, 'But... surely you can be reasonable? Everyone is reasonable for the right price.' You stand over the creeping thing and say in a low tone, 'I think it's reasonable that you die now Vasa.'
You open Vasa's backpack and find a lunchbox and a Blueprint. You lift the Blueprint out, it is labeled Containment Film. You now look into the slime covered pit as see a pile of twisted metal beneath it. You can make no sense of it, until your eye is caught by a small movement. You then suddenly realize that the movement is a metal hand trying desperately to break through the barrier. You step back, the entire pit is filled with countless battlesuits all simply thrown into the pit.
You try to push your hand through the green film to reach the desperate hand, but the film simply gives and does not break. You then try to break trough it with your weapon, but the film simply sizzles. Desperation starts to build, then you look at the Blueprint again. It details how to maintain the film. You then see a Tab, you select it and are relieved to see Golgesh Cutter Slime. It is an acidic goo designed to eat through the Containment Film.
You receive 1 x Golgesh Cutter Slime Blueprint.
Use the Cutter Slime to release the Rebel Soldiers. |

Stage 3 |
Location: | The Circle (Warren) (14, 7) |
Beneath the Containment Film you see the discarded Rebel Soldiers. You will need to find a way to cut through the slim barrier to free them. |
|
You smear the odd goo onto the thick slime membrane. It hisses as soon as the Cutter Slime touches it, then the Film tears apart like water. The Soldiers simply lie there. They are all so tangled up they cannot get out. You try to pull some out, but the suits are simply to heavy for you to lift. You are about to turn away when you hear a synthetic gasp behind you.
Tarron stands over the pit, his enemy lies defenseless before him. You hear a click of a photo being taken. Then a whining crackle come from Tarron. 'I have sent a Recon Photo to our Battle Computer, we shall see what the decision is. I think these Soldiers should be freed, but as a Soldier, I follow orders.
Tarron gives off a series of bleeps, then he suddenly reaches down and pulls out a Rebel Soldier. The Soldier stands before Tarron, then says. 'You are Accord, why do you care about us?' Tarron places a metallic hand inside the empty suit before him. 'Our personalities have been stored within our Battlesuits. We are long dead and none of us know why. It was only when this Warrior came that I was woken up to the fact that I was dead. But thats beside the point. Nobody deserves to be thrown away, you should have been dealt with with honor. Our Battle AI has decreed that hostilities with the Rebellion is over. We have a new enemy, the Golgesh must be destroyed. Now go upstairs and wait for extraction out of enemy territory. We will repair you and then start the fight against the new threat to us.'
The Rebel stands there for a moment then Tarron points to the pit of twisted metal, 'Or you can climb back into the rubbish pit. The choice is yours.'
The Rebel Soldier then tries to touch his face, but find nothing but an empty Battlesuit. 'It has reduced us to empty suits floundering in a slime pit. No - I agree, this must end. The Golgesh must pay for what they have done. We are of one Accord.'
Even though he had no body, you can see the joy in Tarron through the Battlesuit at those five words. Tarron steps forward and reaches for another Soldier. But the freed Rebel stops him, 'I shall do this, you and the Warrior go find out what the Golgesh are doing here.'
Tarron steps back and says simply, 'As you wish Brother.'
